Thank you for accommodating and also the extra help to the travel Fabulous three passes trekking Reviewed October 19, 2019 I started planning my trekking by inquiring online and Bikal from aiming adventure responded to me much quicker than any other agency. He tailor made my itinerary in 10 mins that perfectly suits my needs which demonstrated his professionalism and made me decide to join the trekking. My solo trekking was accompanied by the guide Roman and porter Dili who even carried a box of apples all the way and made high altitude desserts for me every night. Roman is so familiar with the trekking route and always gave me good suggestions to capture the best view on the route. Under Roman’s guide I successfully conquered the three high passes and taken valuable photos of the stunning sunset of Mount Everest. Roman is also a superb photographer who has taken millions of photos for me and the snow mountains which are invaluable memories for my life. All in all, my solo three passes trekking is unforgettable and rewarding and I cannot accomplish that without aiming adventure, the best tour agency in Nepal. -malaxiangguomala Everest Three High Passes Trek, situated at Everest region of Khumbu district, is one of the most exciting and thrilling adventures that offer the incredible scenic view of the Three High passes: Renjo La (5,360m), Cho La (5,420m) and Kongma La (5,535m). The highest height you would reach on your trip is 5,550m (Kalapatthar) from sea level. The walk involves lots of ups and downhill takes you through local villages, farming lands, terraces, and riverside but as long as you have a strength of walking for 4 to 6 hours a day, you are qualified for the trek. A part of the health and fitness, the participant must be having a positive attitude and strong determination for the successful trip. AMS (acute mountain sickness) is a serious issue. It is the result of the failure of the body to adapt to high altitudes and can affect anyone, regardless of age or fitness. It usually occurs above 2,500m and the likelihood of being affected increases as you ascend. The way to reduce the effects of altitude is to ascend slowly, 300 meters per day above 3,000 meters until you have acclimatized. Poor acclimatization results in a headache, nausea, sleeplessness, difficulty breathing and swelling of fingers and glands. The only cure for AMS is to descend to a lower altitude and your guide’s decision on this matter is final. Although our routes are carefully planned to allow for proper acclimatization you may feel some effects of altitude for the first few days or at higher altitudes. Breathlessness, lethargy and mild headaches are not uncommon and generally decrease as your body adjusts. Maintaining adequate fluid intake is essential. Please advise your guide if you feel more severe symptoms and do not medicate yourself without discussing it with them first. Then, we will have a gathering among trekking members to finalize your all necessary types of equipment needed during the trek. We will spend the night at the hotel in Kathmandu. The first day of our trek to Phakding begins with your escorting to the Tribhuvan International Airport by a private vehicle in the early morning for making your flight successful to Lukla. Spending 30-35 min in the plane will finally land us at the Lukla Airport, where you will be awaited by other crew members. Then, the luggage will be prepared for the porters. Your enthusiasms to begin the trek will be over as soon as you leave the Lukla Airport behind. Walking four hours downhill and flat trails will finally reach us to Phakding. After having some rest and refreshment, we will have a short walk around the premises of Phakding village. Then, we will spend the night at a lodge in Phakding. The trek to Namche Bazaar begins as soon as you leave Phakding and make sure our way towards Monju- the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park- crossing a few suspension bridges on the way. When you reach to Sagarmatha National Park office, our team leader will do all of the checking formalities. After entering the national park, you will descend the hill vertically that will take us to Jorsalle which is the last village before Namche. So, we do stop for the lunch here. Just after the village we will cross the suspension bridge and continue to ascend about 3 hours to Namche Bazaar. We will spend the night at a lodge in Namche Bazaar. The third day of your trek will be spent engaging in several activities that help us to adjust to the high altitude and thinning air. The more we remain active in the day the more we feel comfortable in our acclimatization. Thinking so, we hike nearby Sherpa villages: Khumjung and Khunde, especially to the Everest view point for the magnificent view. We, further learn the ways of the lifestyle of the people along with monasteries, museums, local tea shops and cafes. We will spend the night at a local lodge in Namche Bazaar. The fourth day of the trek to Thame village begins when we leave the traditional Everest Base Camp route. With a clockwise flat trail, we first descend to Phurte passing Gongla surrounded by different monasteries and Chorten routes. Then, we climb down towards Thamo after crossing the Thesebu River. Along with ascertaining the Thamo village, we hike down the trail crossing the suspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi River until we reach the Thame village. We will spend our night at a lodge in Thame village. The fifth day of our trek to Lumde starts when we leave Theme village behind and follows the South bank of the Bhote Koshi River. Crossing a few suspension bridges and small settlement, we hike down to Marulung. Before reaching Marulung, we cross a bridge and follow the North bank of the Bhote Koshi River, and then we ascend to Lungde through the dry valley. When we reach Lungde, we get refreshments at the lodge and acclimatization. We will spend the night at a lodge in Lungde. This is the day set for Gokyo Lake follows the trail that takes us to Renjo La (5360m). The hiking up to the base of Renjo La is quite difficult than other days because of slippery and sloppy trails. After reaching the base of Renjo La, the walking becomes comparatively easier. Then, a tough ascend from the base of Renjo La will take us to the first passing route of Three High Passes Trek. We reach to the Third Lake (Gokyo Tsho) after descending from the top of Renjo La, where we get rest for some time at teahouses and lodges, enjoying the panoramic views of, the Ngozumba glacier This is the day we wake up early in the morning to hike the Gokyo Ri to see the sunrise and all, snowcapped mountains. After observing the view we get back to the hotel to have hot breakfast and continue to Thangnag. The trail begins when we leave the Third Lake (Gokyo Tsho) behind. Generally, we will start early in the morning because we have to cross the glacier before the midday because the sun shines brightly and the ice melts that makes the trails more difficult and slippery. Then, we walk through the east bank of the glacier after crossing it and we slightly hike down to Thangnag. After having refreshment for a while, we ascend to small hills for acclimatization purpose. We spend our night at a lodge in Thangnag. The eighth day of our trek to Dughla leads us to Cho La Pass (5,420m), the second destination of our trek. In the beginning, we ascend the trail along a small stream after crossing Cho La Phedi. After that following the icy and slippery trail, we descend to the bottom of the Chola pass and hike up to the top of Chola Pass, where you will be greeted with the Magnificent view of Gokyo Valley and flapping prayer flag. On reaching to the Cho La, we will spend about half an hour and then we descend approximately 3 hours to Dzongla following the rocky and icy trail. The ninth days of our trek to Labuche starts with little descend. And the gentle trail continues all the way to Labuche approximately 3 hours. Labuche is in the corner, well sheltered from the wind. After having lunch at Labuche we will go for the little hike to Glacier from where we can see the Khumbu Glacier for the first time. After capturing the views and enjoying with the altitude we back to the hotel and stay warm. The day we will spend at the tea house. For those of you who are doing the Everest Base Camp Trek for the first time, the day starts with a mixture and anxiety. Today you will be hiking up to the Everest Base Camp. The day will be the most challenging day of the trek and at the same time the most fulfilling as well. The base camp is situated at an altitude of above 5,000m (16,000ft). We start off by hiking to Gorak Shep first. It is a small village sitting atop a small frozen lake buried under sand. We will have our lunch there and hike further following the trails of the Khumbu Glacier. On the way, you will catch the glimpse of an intimidating black rock the world knows by the name of Mt. Everest. The way will lead us to the Everest Base Camp. Have you ever heard or read that Mt. Everest cannot be seen from the Everest Base Camp? You will find the answer yourself. We will spend quality time exploring the base camp and surrounding areas and return to Gorak Shep to spend the night. The destination of the eleventh day of our trekking is Lobuche. Before it, we hike up to Kala Patthar, from where we can view the entire Khumbu region. Then, we hike up to Kala Patthar early in the morning to view sun rays striking the mountains. After relishing the beauties of sun rays, we descend to Gorakshep, have breakfast and then move towards Lobuche following the same trail that is used earlier. We will spend the night at a lodge in Lobuche The destination of the twelfth of our trek is Chhkhung. Following the icy and slippery trail over Khumbu Glacier, we move towards the highest pass (Kongma La-5535m) out of the three high passes. As this place lacks proper settlements, water, and foods, you are suggested to carry needed types of equipment, especially enough water to drink. Then, we make our slight descend to Lhangbo which is a meeting point of Everest Three High Passes trial and Island peak trek trail. We change our trail and follow the Island Peak trek trail that takes us to Nuptse glacier. From Nuptse glacier, a slight ascent will finally take us to Chhukhung, where we will spend our night. The destination of the thirteenth day of our trek is Tengboche. We begin our trek leaving the Island Peak trek trail behind and descend to Chubejung Kharka. The followed trek meets the regular Everest Three High Passes trekking trail. From the trail that follows the Imja Khola, we hike down to Orsho crossing suspension bridge. Crossing two more suspension bridges, we descend to Milingo. From Milingo, our ascending will finally lead you to Tengboche after crossing Deboche. Then, we will spend our night at a lodge in Tengboche. The destination of the fourteenth day of our trek is Namche Bazaar. Our descent from Tengboche via rhododendron forest will reach us to the bottom of the hill. Then, after crossing a suspension bridge, we reach to Phunke Tenga. From PhungeTenga, a slight walk leads us to Khumjung, where we will spend some hours exploring the cultural and natural heritages of Khumjung and keep up walking down to Namche Bazaar, where the circuit of Khumbu region completes. The destination of the last day of our trek in Lukla. From Namche Bazaar, a 6-7 hours trek will take us to Lukla. The trail keeps up down the hill towards the Dudh Koshi River at Larja Dobhan, a point where Bhote Koshi River meets Dudh Koshi River. A steep hike down from Dudh Koshi River will take us to Monjo. After descending from Sagarmatha National park, we cross a suspension bridge over Kyashar Khola and follow the trail along the east bank of the Bhote Koshi River. We further continue our trek towards another bridge over the Bhote Koshi River and descend to Phakding. from Phakding, we hike down until we meet Thado Koshi Gaon and a steep ascend will finally take us to Lukla. On reaching to Lukla, you can spend your time recollecting memories. You will spend your night at a lodge in Lukla. This is the day very excited to fly out from Lukla and to have the proper hot shower in Kathmandu. Our porters will carry your luggage to the airport and team leader will manage other formalities. When you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will directly get to the hotel. We will spend the time at the evening discussing the challenges you faced during our trek and we will even get feedback from you. Then, we will spend the hotel in Kathmandu. It is the last day of our time wave to be ready at your time otherwise, you can spend your time visiting in shopping malls and collecting some mementos of your trip. Upon your time schedule, our one of the representative will drop –off you to the airport. But if you have some more days in Nepal we will arrange interactives to make your holiday fruitful. We are always here to customize your trip.
