Nagarkot is a very popular viewpoint for sunrise on the mountains and sunset views.

Besides above the beautiful valley view is another attraction of Nagarkot. Also, the Kathmandu valley's view can be seen from there. Nagarkot is also a popular picnic spot and music video shooting spot. The green hill forest is a beautiful attraction where a public picnic takes place.

It is located 32 km east of Kathmandu, Nepal in Bhaktapur District in the Bagmati Zone. This one-day Kathmandu uncovered tour packs up magnificent views of the Himalayas from Nagarkot with a glimpse of the cultural heritage of Kathmandu valley. For the sunrise view, 4 or 4:30 am (as per season) is the best time to start from Kathmandu which is only a 1:30 hour drive.

Trip Details

Early in the morning, a private vehicle will come to pick you up at your hotel. You will be driven 32 km east of Kathmandu valley known as Nagarkot (which can be said one of the international tourist destinations) to see the beautiful sunrise view and the eye-capturing snowcapped Himalayan range. After capturing the magnificent Himalayan range from the Nagarkot you will be driven to the hotel to have a hot and healthy breakfast. Spending a few times with the mountain views and breakfast, the car will take you down to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. It is a Royal Residental Quarter of Bhupatindra Malla, a famous five-storied temple of Nyatapola in Pagoda style, Batsala temple, Bhairavnath temple, Duttatraya temple, Pujari Muth, and Palace of 55 windows. While visiting those places you will be observing the lifestyle of Nepali people, interacting with them, observing the beautiful landscape and historical places, and will be influenced by Nepali culture and religion. After the completion, your tour will be driven back to your hotel. Remaining time you can look around the city and buy some souvenirs.
